What is Thai Massage?

Thai massage is a branch of Thai medicine.

Thai massage, like all branches of traditional Thai medicine, is a Buddhist medicine. Thai bodywork is not only physical, as the physical, energetic, and emotional bodies are not separate; to touch one is to touch all.

Tools and Techniques used:

  • Herbal compresses- to warm and soften skin and tissues

  • Balms and liniments- various traditional balms and liniments may be used.

  • Compression using hands, forearms, knees, and/or feet.

  • passive range of motion

  • stretching

  • point work

  • scraping and cupping

  • tok sen or other channel work.

What can Thai Massage be beneficial for?

What to expect at your first appoinment.

  • We will go over your intake together. Treatments are always customized to your current needs.

  • Thai massage is done on a mat on the floor.

  • The receiver wears clothes. Clothes will be provided, though you may wear your own loose-fitting clothing if you’d like. Please have a change of clothes for after the massage if you do bring your own clothing.

  • I may use any of the above tools and techniques with your consent.
